Psalm 105:2 says:
“Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.”
How much time do we spend singing the praise of all of God’s wonderful acts in our lives?
The answer for me is, not enough!
Our culture has made it taboo to talk too much about positive things in our lives.
We are quick to talk about the pain, the illness, the loss, and the negative and ask for prayers, but how often are we taking about our answered prayers?
How often are we praising God for our fantastic health, for our strong body, and for great relationships or for whatever we take for granted?
It is easy to forget about these blessings while we are witnessing them and long for them when they are missing. “Oh how I miss when I could climb the stairs unassisted” or “I used to be able to do that!”
The good word is spread through a positive message.
As Christians something should be different in our lives. We have a guide, a creator that made us in His image, whom loves us and thinks we are perfect exactly as we are at this very moment. The people we encounter throughout the day should feel and notice something different in our presence. And something should be different!
Sometimes I forget how blessed I really am…
- I have fantastic friendships
- I am healthy (spiritually and of mind and body)
- I love my work and get to choose the projects I complete
- I learn something new almost every day
- I live in an era where my basic needs of food, water, and shelter are mostly taken care of with little effort
And much much more!
Why am I not sharing this good news with everyone around me? Why am I afraid of talking about the good things in my life?
Do you have this same struggle?
Today will be different, in my conversations I will talk about how God has blessed me. I will express my gratitude and…
“Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.”
