A few years ago I was shopping at my local grocery store when I bumped into a gentleman and his wife. He was wearing a shirt with a logo of the Great Lakes and because I’ve spent the majority of my life in Michigan it caught my eye. So I said hello and asked if they were from Michigan. After confirming we talked for a while and they ended up inviting me to a Bible study that they host and we exchanged contact info.
Fast forward three years… I’ve been in their Bible study since that week, we often share meals together, take long walks, and have become great friends.
Whose shirt are you wearing?
Are you supporting your high school? A university? A sports team? Your local town?
What about beneath the shirt? Do the folks you meet throughout the day know you are a Christian?
Are you an ambassador for Jesus?
If no, why not? How can you act differently today with your co-workers and with strangers you cross path with? How can you honor Jesus’ command to love your neighbor as yourself?
“Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; Tell of all his wonderful acts.” Psalm 105:2
They will know we are Christians by our love.
We will walk with each other.
We will walk hand in hand.
And together we’ll spread the news that God is in our land
